For months friends have kept asking us to share with them our new found job opportunities on the Internet. It is no secret that my wife and I and jeremiah are working on Internet and computer related projects in the comfort of our home. Some brothers and sister in our church are already working with us in many of the projects.
In November 20 we held our first seminar on this, dubbed “How to Find a Job on the Internet Using Your Friendster Skills”, for our friends in GTF San Pedro. Arranged by our friends borther Luke and Ferdie, the event was held at the house of Pastor Nonoy in Sunshine Village, GMA, Cavite. About 15 individuals and a few couples, and three sisters from my church, attended the seminar which was also recorded on video for those who could not come.
We did not actually offer jobs to them. The purpose of the seminar was just to show them where they can find thousands of freelance jobs. We also showed them what are the most in-demand skills, as well as Internet skills and software knowledge they will most likely need, such as Skype, Paypal, IM’s, social networking sites, etc.
We realize that working at home may not be for everyone. Also, while learning how to use the computer and/or navigate the Internet may be second nature to the young people of this generation, they may not be as easy to start-up adults.
But the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. And the individuals who will most likely benefits are the mothers who cannot leave their kids at home, young people and church workers who want to take control of their time so they can readily attend to their ministries, and even ministers who need a part-time job to feed his family.
We continue to offer this seminar to friends in other churches who want to learn how to work freelance on the Internet. Please contact us for more information.
