The couples of New Life Harvest gathered at our home for another Couples Fellowship that never ceases to do wonders in their homes and marriages. Indeed, last Sunday’s gathering showed how much the couples have learned by experience as well as by counseling.
Our discussion focused on the short presentation that I made concerning the oneness of a husband and wife in the light of the Word of God. According to the Scriptures God wants them to be one not only in flesh, but also in purpose and possessions. However, the purpose of this oneness is not to obliterate or erase the individuality of any of them. On the other hand, given the proper consideration and diligence from both sides, the man’s and the woman’s personalities should grow and shine even more. In the words of one pastor, which I used to drive my point, as the couple becomes a “we”, they shoud continue to respect the “me” of either side.
Everyone took turns telling how they faced and worked situations that relate to our topic. But the most beautiful story of day came from brother Bong and sister Amy who, after struggling to make their marriage work and their faith in the center of their lives, have succeeded triumphantly and are experiencing the wonder of the power of God’s love.
