Masbate Mission Trip

Masbate Mission Trip

I took a 4-day trip to Masbate to visit our sister churches and participate in one special event. I was accompanied by Bro. Renz Metrillo and 2 young people, brothers Joey Alico and Peter Jonah Ventucillo, who were eager to see and experience how our brethren in the province live.

We arrived at the port of Aroroy, Masbate on Tuesday, May 19,  after 19 hours of travel by land and sea. We were met by two brothers who took us on a 20-minute boat ride to Brgy. Bariis where our host pastor lives. Brother Benny Villanueva invited me to be their guest speaker on their church’s first anniversary, an invitation I could not refuse.

The event was held on the next day, May 20 in the small chapel. People started coming from far away places for the fellowship. I spoke on “The Spiritual Inheritance of the Saints” and “True Fellowship” in the morning and afternoon services.

We took our trip to Cabitan, Mandaon after the afternoon service was over. We rode on motorcycles, more popularly called “habal-habal” among the locals. The 30-45 minutes bumpy ride was a sightseeing tour of the countryside. Pastor Joel Togonon, also a cousin of mine, warmly greeted us as we arrived in his place.

Pastor Joel has scheduled a whole day fellowship on May 21 for his people and for those who were not able to join with the fellowship at Bariis. The people started arriving in the early evening, having walked 4 hours from their place in the mountains.

I preached in the morning and in the afternoon services on “Guaranteed Inheritance” and “Love One Another”, respectively. A mighty outpouring of the power of the Holy Spirit came upon us, especially during the morning the service, as the people received the message by faith.

The mission trip was a great time for me and for my companions.
